WikiProject Universities aims to improve the coverage of universities and colleges on Wikipedia.

Our goals include:
- Standardize the structure and content of all college and university articles
- Represent the interests of colleges and universities and ensure their articles' compliance with Wikipedia's five pillars
- Improve the coverage of university articles, propelling them to featured article status
- Serve as the central resource for all discussions and information related to colleges and universities

Task forces are meant to provide centralized information and a discussion area for topics that have a sufficiently large scope, but that would not benefit from having a separate WikiProject with all of the additional work that would involve. The currently organized task forces are:

- 29 June 2009 – A compilation of Academic Journal has been generated from the |journal= parameter found in citation templates, identifying the 500 most cited journals, and 500 most cited journals without articles.
- 18 June 2009 – A new database dump is available. The cleanup listings from WolterBot should be updated.
- 15 June 2009 – A new edition of the Wikipedia Signpost is out.
- 30 Apr 2009 – WikiProjects can sign up for Announcements & Milestones, listing the milestones of a particular projects (such as 10th FA, etc...). The list is managed by LivingBot.
