Standardize the structure and content of all college and university articles
Represent the interests of colleges and universities and ensure their articles' compliance with Wikipedia's five pillars
Improve the coverage of university articles, propelling them to featured article status
Serve as the central resource for all discussions and information related to colleges and universities

Task forces are meant to provide centralized information and a discussion area for topics that have a sufficiently large scope, but that would not benefit from having a separate WikiProject with all of the additional work that would involve. The currently organized task forces are:

15 June 2009 – A new edition of the Wikipedia Signpost is out.
30 Apr 2009 – WikiProjects can sign up for Announcements & Milestones, listing the milestones of a particular projects (such as 10th FA, etc...). The list is managed by LivingBot.

Beware of overloading yourself with WikiProject memberships, however. Keep involved in a handful of WikiProjects to which you can actively and assiduously contribute, and always be willing to help any WikiProject, when you see an opportunity, regardless of membership.
