This guideline discusses the criteria for determining if a building, structure, or landmark is notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. In general, the subject of an article is notable meets the general notability guideline by having coverage in multiple, independent and reliable sources which are also secondary. There are, however, some situations in which a structure can be considered notable even if general notability is insufficient.

[edit] General structure guidelines

The general guidelines for a structure which has not been adequately covered are as follows:

  1. The structure is an enduring part of history and is likely to remain so (see Pyramids of Egypt and Colosseum or other Landmark)
  2. The structure has been has been nominated or won a notable award or multiple awards of lesser notability (see Yamma Mosque)
  3. The structure is regularly frequented or visited by at least two distinctly notable persons.
  4. The structure has been the subject of a notable artistic work (see Tom's Restaurant), though if this is the only claim then the content is probably better off in the article about the artistic work itself.

[edit] Historical buildings

Historical buildings and structures, whether or not they are listed on a government registry, generally are not notable simply because they are considered historical.
