Also of some interest in VW do Brasil's history is the Autolatina arrangement between Ford & Volkswagen, from 1987 to 1995.

Volkswagen do Brasil was also responsible for the development and creation of Volkswagen Caminhões Ltda, VW's Truck & Bus subsidiary 1979-1999, which is now run by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
