[edit] Category:Landlocked countries

Note that Chad is the only Featured Article that falls under Category:Landlocked countries. As such, it should be an example for other country articles to follow, not the other way around. Those other pages that have namesake categories should be removed from those categories their namesake category is already a member of. — Dulcem (talk) 06:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CfD nomination of Category:Fictional earldoms

I have nominated Category:Fictional earldoms (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 06:19, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dukes

Dukes and duchesses were upmerged to the parent category Category:Fictional nobility, please do not continue to re-create the category. - jc37 05:20, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Categories exist for Fictional barons and baronesses, Fictional counts and countesses, and Fictional knights. Why not Fictional dukes and duchesses? Goustien (talk) 05:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Because unlike Barons and Counts, Duke (and Lord), are used in fiction without regard to whether they actually are lords of a duchy, whether they actually are a duke. The Duke of Deception is just one example. And further there are "dukes" which are merely known in the fictional work as "lords". So it's better that these lords and ladies are grouped under nobility in order to prevent such issues and confusion. (Note that fictional lords and ladies was upmerged/deleted at WP:CFD for such reasons.) - jc37 05:32, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Swords

good luck with them. But please try to find a secondary reference--some of the books on the legends involved should discuss them.DGG (talk) 03:08, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Opera of Operas

I wanted to note that I performed this because The Tragedy of Tragedies page now contains the information and it is a mistake to connect Opera of Operas with the original version (Tom Thumb) and not the later expanded version (Tragedy of Tragedies). I used part of your sentence and expanded on it with dates and the rest here. I hope this makes sense. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:46, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Gorice XII

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Gorice XII, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No discernable notability, or other reason for this article to exist. The information here is replicated from the main article for the book in which this character appears, The Worm Ouroboros.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Alastairward (talk) 21:26, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Please consider adding the oldprodfull tag on the Talk page when you remove a PROD like I did here, here, and here. Keep up the good work! Varbas (talk) 03:55, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Character articles for The Worm Ouroboros

I think you misunderstood the reason for the PRODs. Character articles should be more than simple plot reiteration, we should be aiming for something that gives notability outside the fictional universe they exist within. You may want to consider a merge to a general list of characters. Otherwise, all that we have here are character descriptions that could otherwise site on the main article for the book. Take a look at the articles for Spock and James T. Kirk for examples of good "out of universe" character articles. Alastairward (talk) 11:17, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

OK, as long as there's a separate page Yogyakarta Sultanate. Goustien (talk) 03:07, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Franceville

I am trying to track down the constitution of Franceville to verify claims about it being the first independent state with universal suffrage. You seem to be the source of most of the Franceville information. Do you know where a copy of the constitution might be? Lalli999 (talk) 22:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Franceville

Thanks for your reply. I am heading the WPHC archives next month, in part to try to track down more on Franceville. Am anglophone so am struggling on the French documents side. In one of your early edits of the Franceville info on the Vanuatu history page you said that Franceville had been granted a charter of independence by France. I don't suppose you have a source for this? Lalli999 (talk) 04:59, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
