Welcome to my user page. My user name is an amalgamation of Eels' album Beautiful Freak and a song from that album, "My Beloved Monster".

On Wikipedia, my interests tend to focus on LGBT issues, films and Africa. As a result, I am most active in WikiProject LGBT studies, WikiProject Films and WikiProject Africa. Sometimes the three coincide, for example Forbidden Fruit and Dakan. I also dabble in other projects, including WikiProject Biography, WikiProject Albums, WikiProject UK geography and WikiProject Medicine. I am very much a Wikignome — I love doing mundane things like adding references, tagging and assessing articles, adding infoboxes, fixing links to disambiguation pages and reverting vandalism. Categories such as Category:Category needed Category:Articles that need to be wikified and Wikipedia:Dead-end pages are always interesting because they contain many articles with multiple issues.
