Treaty of Rome may refer to any of four treaties that have been signed in Rome (Italy)

  • The Treaty of Rome, 1924 signed on January 27, 1924 between the countries of Italy and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (the later Yugoslavia) revoked the provisions of the November 12, 1920 Treaty of Rapallo relating to Fiume, now Rijeka, Croatia, which had created the independent Free State (Stato libero) of Fiume, now assigning it to Italian administration, assigning its suburb Sušak to Yugoslavia, and assigning joint administration of the seaport. The formal annexation of Fiume to Italy occurred on March 16, 1924.
  • The Treaties of Rome, two treaties of the European Union signed at the same time on 25 March 1957; the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community and the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community (the former of these two is commonly known as the singular "Treaty of Rome" within the EU context).
  • The Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe, some times known as the Second Treaty of Rome in reference to the 1957 treaty being the first. It was signed on 29 October 29 2004 but never came into force due to a failure to ratify it.
