There are two (very different) stub articles about this page. Shouldn't we merge them together and make a referent page?

Yes. I've never seen the capitalisation used to contrast these terms before. Morwen 14:40, Dec 14, 2003 (UTC)

"Why it is that the latter run consistent trade surpluses, while the former run consistent trade deficits, so that it would appear that it is free-market economies, not well-regulated economies, that have trouble competing, is a problem that is never addressed."

I agree with the point but the wording is too POV. - Aaron Hill 07:08, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC) (revised)

Maybe a bit too much POV in describing Blairism as a continuation of Thatcherism. Blair's government introduced a national minimum wage to the UK for the first time ever, as well as compelling companies to recognize unions under certain (admittedly narrowly defined) circumstances.

Also, decentralization wasn't a continuation of Thatcherism. Thatcher was a strongly centralizing premier: she was completely opposed to Scottish and Welsh national assemblies and to English regional assemblies, and she castrated English local government as well.
