Louis Lincoln Emmerson (December 27, 1863February 4, 1941) was a Republican Secretary of State of Illinois, 1917 to 1929. At the end of his term, he was elected governor of Illinois, serving from 1929 to 1933. Emmerson was born in Albion, Edwards County, Illinois and died in Mt. Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois. He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Vernon.
