Jieyang (simplified Chinese: 揭阳; pinyin: Jiēyáng) is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. It borders Shantou to the east, Chaozhou to the northeast, Meizhou to the north, Shanwei to the west, and looks out to the South China Sea to the south.

The prefecture-level city of Jieyang administers 5 county-level divisions, including 1 district, 1 county-level city (administered on behalf of the province) and 3 counties.

- Jiedong County (揭东县/揭東縣)

Rice cultivation and the textile industry are important to its economy.

The Teochew dialect is predominantly spoken in this region. The Hakka dialect, however, has its limited presence among Hakka people in Jiexi County.

1930s saw numerous Jieyang inhabitants emigrating to Pontianak, Indonesia and Thailand to seek better fortune.
